British comic Russell Brand has been criticized by Peaches Geldof’s sister Fifi for making “offensive and highly inappropriate” jokes about drugs during an addiction charity fundraiser.
The Get Him to the Greek star, who is a recovering drink and drug addict, was the compere at a London event raising money for U.K. drug and alcohol addiction charity Focus 12 on Wednesday.
During his speech, Brand made reference to cocaine’s white powder form, saying, “From what I’ve experienced, a lot of people here are on drugs right now. The toilet is like an avalanche.”
Fifi, whose sister Peaches died from a heroin overdose last year, was in attendance at the event and she subsequently blasted Brand over his drug-themed gags in a candid post on her Instagram.com page.
She writes, “Less of a Russell Brand fan than ever after his offensive and highly inappropriate speech at the addiction charity event last night. Silly try hard c**t.”
Peaches died at her home in Kent, England last year after suffering a heroin overdose, the same cause of death as her mother Paula Yates, who died in 2000.
